It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Ezio Quartuccio Jr., who departed this life on September 12, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on November 3, 1942, in Richmond Hill, New York City, graduated from East Meadow High School, then raised his children in the New York seaside village of Sayville, New York. John lived a life rich in love, creativity, and dedication to his family and community.

Survived by his loving wife Franklynne of 62 years, his loved dog Bella, and his two devoted sons Col. John Quartuccio III, (Kentucky Colonel), and Christopher Quartuccio, amazing grandsons John Quartuccio IV and Christopher Quartuccio, the light of his life beloved granddaughter Erika Miller, He also had the joy of being a great-grandfather to his beautiful great-granddaughter, Elizabeth “Ellie” Miller. Beloved sister Caroline Pizzuto and Rose Cloer. His nephews Anthony, Joseph, Russell, Phillip, and favorite nephew Thomas Pizzuto Jr., niece Mitchell, his cherished daughters-in-laws Elizabeth Quartuccio and Patricia Carroll, and Erika’s husband, dear grandson-in-law Richard Miller. Predeceased by his grandparents Ezio and Caroline Quartuccio, loving parents John and Mildred Quartuccio Sr., brother-in-law Rusty Pizzuto, nephews Thomas and Robert Pizzuto. Beloved mother and father-in-law Frank and Virginia LaRocca and dear friends Eldon and Lois Metzger and Diana Ziegler.

John was a Renaissance man who mastered several trades including a mechanic consultant for Mercedes. He took over Quartuccio’s Restaurant, located in Ozone Park, Queens, from his father, becoming a master chef with regular customers including politicians such as Congressman Addabbo, also John Gotti and his brothers, and celebrities such as writer Jimmy Breslin. Later, he became a celebrated artist, jeweler and designer and creator of the oyster medal for 5k Run For the Bay. For his interest and contributions to the study of history he was appointed the “Steward of the Manor” by the Lord of the Manor of Phillipsburg, a historical philanthropy. He attended the New York Institute of Technology. John was also a double blue star father with both of his sons serving in the Army in the infantry, his son John serving as a corporal and Chris a Spec-4.

Funeral services will be in Sarasota, FL. Burial (inurnment) will be at the Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY.
