Renee W. Eppard serves at the founding chair of the Tidewell Foundation Board of Trustees. She joined the Tidewell Hospice Board of Trustees in 2016 and serves as the Tidewell Hospice Board Secretary. Renee also serves on the Finance and Governance committees. Renee also serves on the SCATA Real Estate Board. She retired in 2007 after a 27-year career as a Real Estate Broker specializing in corporate relocation, property management, real estate sales and development. Renee, a St. Charles, Ill., native who attended Southern Illinois University, has lived in Sarasota since 1973. She was a member of The Women’s Council of Realtors, the Sarasota Board of Realtors, Junior League of Sarasota, Leadership Sarasota, Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, Sarasota Economic Development Committee, the Sarasota/Manatee Workforce Development Board, the Florida State Workforce Development Board (now Enterprise Florida) and the National Board of Workforce Development. After a short break during retirement, Renee re-entered community service by volunteering for the Ringling College Library Association (RCLA) Town Hall Lecture Series and became a board member for RCLA, serving as President in 2015. Renee and Walt, her husband of 40 years, enjoy golf, fly fishing, boating, traveling and visiting their summer home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They have four grown children, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Judith T. Berlow is currently in her first term of service to the Tidewell Foundation Board. Judith previously served on the Tidewell Hospice philanthropy committee and the Signature Luncheon host committee. Judith spent her career teaching Spanish for the New York State Public School System, developing a middle-school program for foreign language education for the Syracuse City School District. She holds her bachelor’s degree in foreign language education and a master’s degrees in spanish education from Syracuse University. She relocated to Sarasota from New York in 2011 with her husband Michael where she has been active in the community participating as a member in the Lakewood Ranch Rotary, the Suncoast Food and Wine Festival, Books for Kids, the Walk for Water and as a member of Tidewell’s Signature Luncheon Committee. Judith is passionate about the mission of Tidewell Hospice and has supported the organization by donating the Dr. Michael E. and Judith T. Berlow Family Room at the Lakewood Ranch Hospice House.

Dan Deems, MD, PhD, FACS has practiced medicine for over 30 years and is an otolaryngologist, neuroscientist, and a balance expert. His career began with research on the neurobiology of the brain during his undergraduate and doctoral training, continued on during his medical training (M.D., internship and residency) – simultaneously holding a research faculty appointment as an NIH Principal Investigator, with clinical research continuing today. He is the Co-Founder & Principal of FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers, LLC since 2012. Dan is also the Clinical Assistant Professor at the FSU School of Medicine, Sarasota Campus as well as a CME Course Author and Instructor of the Medical Education Council of Pensacola. Dan also serves as a member of the CEO Roundtable for the Venice Chamber of Commerce.

Steve Hall joined the Tidewell Hospice Board of Trustees in 2015 and then the Stratum Health System Board in 2016. Steve has served on the Finance, Investment, Personnel committees and is a founding board member of the Tidewell Foundation.

Steve is the Market President for Alltrust Insurance in Lakewood Ranch. He works with CEOs, CFOs, and human resources professionals to offer cost-effective, sustainable employee benefits programs that attract and retain top talent. Steve is a Marine Corps veteran and serves on several local boards, including Bayside Community Church, Manatee Chamber of Commerce, and the Sarasota Manatee HR Association. Steve is a founding member of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum and Past Chairman of the Board.

Steve has two daughters: Kendra, attending the University of Florida, and Sara, a Division 1 Beach Volleyball Player for Tulane. 

Raymond Dean Hautamaki MD is board certified Internal Medicine- Pulmonary/Critical Care physician practicing in Sarasota, Florida. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida for undergraduate studies and medical school. He was inducted into AOA his junior year of medical school and graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine with honors along with honors in research. Dr. Hautamaki was a general surgical resident at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida and then completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine- Barnes/Jewish Hospital system. Since 1997 Dr. Hautamaki has been a practicing physician in Sarasota, Florida. In 2008 he was the founding partner of Hautamaki & Horiuchi – Personal Physicians of Sarasota providing Internal Medicine/Pulmonary and Critical Care Medical services. He has served as Chairman of Medicine & Co-Director of Critical Care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital an 821 bed regional teaching medical center with an active Level II Trauma center. He has served on the hospital’s executive medical committee and remains active teaching as an assistant clinical professor with Florida State College of Medicine. Dr. Hautamaki serves as director for several private and public biotechnology companies which have included Wafergen Biosystems, Fibralign Corporation and First Wave Technologies. Dr. Hautamaki sits on the University of Florida College of Medicine Leadership council and now serves as their Chairman. Dr. Hautamaki is married to Elizabeth and has four children.

Victoria Kasdan, RN, BSN, MPH, is a registered nurse, former public health administrator, and seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

In addition to her role as CEO of Mission Made Possible, LLC, a local consulting firm, Kasdan is co-founder and current Board Chair of Making An Impact, an area nonprofit empowering others with information on essential need services in Sarasota and Manatee counties. She is also on the board at JFCS of the Suncoast and was appointed to the regional Health Council of West Central Florida, where she currently serves as Board Chair.

Recognized twice as a Florida Top 50 Influencer, she is an accomplished keynote speaker, a successful entrepreneur, and serves on the board of several local and regional nonprofits.

Kasdan is the recipient of many awards, holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s in Public Health, and is a licensed insurance agent for health, life, and variable annuities.

Kory D. Lee, CFP®, Wealth Advisor and Vice President with Truist Wealth is serving in his first term on the Tidewell Foundation Board. Kory began his career in private wealth management with Citi Smith Barney in 2006 as a Portfolio Management Associate. He served in leadership roles with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Wells Fargo Advisors before serving as a Financial Advisor. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Westminster College MO. Kory resides in the Palmer Ranch area of Sarasota with his wife, Jules, and daughter, Vesper.

Jan Miller is currently the Chair of the Stratum Health System Board. Jan also serves on the Executive/Personnel Committee and Planning and Business Development Committee of the Stratum Board. Jan originally joined the Tidewell board in 2004 and served as Chair in 2010. She began her career in the financial services industry at Winters Bank in her native Dayton, Ohio. During her tenure with Winters, she studied business and marketing at Sinclair College and later Wright State University in Dayton. In 1977, Jan moved to Sarasota to join Southeast Bank in the trust department. Upon completion of Florida Graduate Trust School in 1981, Jan became a trust officer and later senior trust officer for the bank. Jan served as an American Institute of Banking instructor, teaching trust administration courses locally. Always passionate about charitable involvement, Jan left the trust business in 1988, moving to the not-for-profit sector as a development director raising funds for Mote Marine Laboratory, American Heart Association and Family Counseling Center. She returned to trust services in 2001, joining Caldwell Trust Company, where she is Senior Executive Vice President & Trust Officer responsible for Client Services, Investments and Marketing. Still active in the charitable community, Jan is chair emeritus of several organizations including Family Counseling Center and Florida Center for Early Childhood, Inc. She continues to help Mote, serving on its development committee. In addition, she has served on the boards of the Sarasota Conservation Foundation, the Women’s Legal Fund, the Women’s Advisory Fund of the Venice Foundation and on numerous advisory committees in the community. Jan’s husband, Marine Biologist Jim Culter, is a Senior Scientist at Mote Marine Laboratory and a Fellow of The Explorers Club since 1997.

Thomas T. Stuhley joined the Board in 2011, is the Chair of Empath Health, and is the Vice-Chair Stratum Healthcare. Tom also serves on the Executive/Personnel Committee, Governance Committee, Finance and Investment Committee, and Planning and Business Development Committee of the Stratum Board. Tom previously served on the Tidewell Hospice Philanthropy Committee. A native of Southern California, Tom attended the University of Arizona, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and speech. He served as a banking officer and director at several northern Illinois banks before purchasing a small community bank in southern Wisconsin in 1988. The purchase grew into the successful chain of MidAmerica Banks. Tom is a member of the Caldwell Trust Company Board of Trustees and an emeritus member of the board of Wisconsin’s Aurora Health Care, South Region, and is a Trustee of Aurora University-George Williams College. Locally, he is a former member of the Casey Key Association Board and the Asolo Repertory Theatre Endowment Foundation. Now a full-time resident of Casey Key, he and his wife, Cindy, have three grown children and nine grandchildren.

Jason was born and raised in Sarasota, FL. He attended and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School. Jason attended and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Management Information Systems. He then went on to Rollins College in Winter Park, FL where he received his MBA. After graduation, Jason moved back to Sarasota, FL where he worked in the family business. In July of 2018, he, his brother, and his parents left the family business to partner with SCI services to rebrand 3 locations under the name Robert Toale and Sons. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations for the brand. In addition to his work life, Jason sits on the boards of the Florida, Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (FCCFA), the Argus Foundation, Tiger Bay of Sarasota, and the Old Miakka Cemetery Board. Jason is married to Susie and has two children, Grace and Grant.

Delesa Morris, M.S., CFRE® is the President for Tidewell Foundation. She joined the Team in July 2022 bringing over twenty years of experience in philanthropy, community relations, strategic planning, communication, and non-profit management. She is responsible for providing leadership of Tidwell’s Philanthropy, Planned Giving, Donor and Data management.

Her career experience includes serving at the Executive Director of Philanthropy for Cleveland Clinic Martin Health System, Assistant Vice President at Palm Beach Atlantic University and Director of Development, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati.

Delesa holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential and earned her M.S. degree in Organizational Leadership and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Delesa is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida. Her passion is igniting joy through philanthropy.

Jonathan D. Fleece, Esq., is President and CEO of Empath Health and Affiliate Programs. He is a proven healthcare leader and visionary whose roots and community involvement run deep in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Jonathan, a Florida board-certified health care attorney, became Tidewell CEO in October 2018 after serving as President/CEO and a shareholder of the law firm, Blalock Walters, P.A., in Bradenton and Sarasota. He is the co-author of The New Health Age: The Future of Health Care in America, with acclaimed futurist, author, and speaker, David Houle. Jonathan and David also are co-founders of New Health Age Advisors, and Jonathan is founder of tobe4HEALTH. Jonathan received his JD Degree and Certificate in Health Law Studies from St. Louis University School of Law. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Missouri Bar, the Illinois Bar and American Health Lawyers Association. Jonathan was a member of either the Tidewell or Stratum boards from 2009 until 2018 and has been instrumental in contributing to Stratum’s and Tidewell’s success. He currently serves on the board of the Florida Hospice & Palliative Care Association and is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Jonathan also has served in numerous other community leadership roles, including on the Manatee Community Foundation board of trustees and as Past Board Chair of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Bradenton Area EDC and the Manatee Health Care Alliance. He also is a graduate of the Tampa Bay Partnership’s CEO Direct Program.
