Tidewell Foundation Receives Grant For Charity Hospice Care
The $65,000 Grant from The Ralph S. French Charitable Foundation To Support Hospice Care for Manatee County Residents.
Many patients who require Tidewell’s services do not have insurance and cannot bear the financial burden of care. Some patients are even too young to qualify for Medicare.
Tidewell Foundation raises more than $1 million a year to ensure that all in need can benefit from the full scope of Tidewell Hospice’s world-class care, including medical care, equipment, and counseling. Patients also receive complementary services, such as music therapy, massage therapy, or pet therapy that enhance their quality of life.
“Without the generous support of the French Foundation, people in need would not be able to receive the full benefit and dignity of hospice care,” said Debbie Mason, Tidewell Foundation president. “The impact is significant.”
Previous support from the French Foundation and other generous donors allowed Tidewell Hospice to serve a total of 11,693 patients in fiscal year 2021. These patients received 2,494 physician visits, 4,820 social workers visits, and 197 bereavement counselor visits.
