You can help Dr. J provide dignity to patients…

As a culture, death isn’t something we necessarily talk about. We welcome conversations about life — from birth to retirement — with open arms. What makes Tidewell special is that we’re here at the end of life.

There is a misconception that by coming to Tidewell there is no hope, and this is where people come to die. Visit any hospice house and you will find the opposite is true. There is connection, support, respect, and reflection.

People do not stop fighting when they come to us. They’re just fighting for something else – comfort.  We make sure all patients receive the dignity they deserve at the end of their lives.

You can help Tina educate nurses…

Have you ever had a dream buried so deep in your heart you forgot it was a dream?

I have been in hospice care my whole career. First as a CNA and then as an RN. I always wanted to be a wound care nurse, but I could never afford the training. Tidewell fulfilled my lifelong dream and provided me with the opportunity to become a Wound Care and Ostomy Certified RN. Now I’m honored to educate nurses on palliative wound care across Tidewell.  No one should suffer when they are dying and our work endeavors to manage end-of-life symptoms so they do not have that burden.

We make one of the most difficult, vulnerable times easier by providing comfort and compassionate care. Every patient deserves a peaceful death and we will do whatever is in our power to help patients live well until that time comes.
