Dagmer Ann O’Brien

Dagmer Ann O’Brien, 92, of Port Charlotte, FL, died peacefully at her home in Southport Square on January 9, 2024.

She was born in Oak Park, IL, on August 23, 1931, and lived in Chicago, IL, Rolling Meadows, IL, and Punta Gorda, FL, before moving to Port Charlotte in the summer of 2022.

She is survived by her children, Leo (Judy) Modica and Teresa (Mike) Lange; her grandchildren, Ryan Lange, Andrea Modica, Chris (Katy) Modica, Jamie Perkins, and Kate Carlson; her sister, Gloria Anzalone; her brother, James (Deb) Stagno; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren whom she adored: Mya and Sofia Perkins, Landon Carlson, Gwen and Nina Modica, and Caleb Modica. She was preceded in death by her second husband, James O’Brien, and her first husband, Anthony Modica.

A memorial luncheon will be held for her family in Chicago, IL, in early 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul, Sacred Heart Conference, 25200 Airport Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 33950, and Tidewell Foundation, 3550 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239, for the Port Charlotte Hospice House.
