Monserrate Lopez
Monserrate Lopez of North Port, FL, was born on September 8, 1933, in Mayaguez, PR, and passed away on December 6, 2023. She was the twin daughter of Luis Rivera-Aldea and Sofia Mendez-Rivera.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Pedro E. Lopez, Sr., and her children, Ivette Lopez, Pedro E Lopez Jr. (Lilliam), and Nancy Bailon (Robert Moroni). Her grandchildren Nancy P. Bailon, Kathleen Bailon, Victoria Sanadi, and Paul Hernandez (Kristy); her great-grandchildren Caroline A. Frazier, Ariel A. Bailon-Sorbo, Niv Hernandez, and Jude Hernandez.
Monserrate was a devout Catholic who led a weekly rosary group with her husband at San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port, FL. She was always ready to help those in need and spread the word of God to anyone who welcomed it. She was greatly loved by everyone who knew her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A tremendous void has been left in our hearts, and she will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks to make memorial contributions to the Tidewell Foundation in Monserrate Lopez’s name.
