Blue Butterfly to hold free summer camps in Manatee
The highly recognized Blue Butterfly grief support program for children and their caregivers, a program of Tidewell Grief Care, will hold a series of summer day camps in Manatee County for children and teens who are grieving.
Camps are scheduled for different age groups, and each are a week long.
“Blue Butterfly grief counselors will lead children in age-appropriate support groups, therapeutic activities and a variety of traditional camp games and activities,” said Danielle Visone, MSW, LCSW, Blue Butterfly program manager.
Blue Butterfly holds grief support programs twice a month in the evenings during the school year. For the first time, they are offering the campus to provide additional support during the summer. Campers do not have to have previous experience with Blue Butterfly and are open to all children who have faced the loss of someone close to them.
Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an early-morning drop-off from 8-9 a.m. and evening pick-up available from 5-5 pm.
This camp is provided free to grieving children, thanks to donor support from Tidewell Foundation and a grant from Manatee County.
