Holiday gift drive supports children in grief care

SARASOTA – Each year donors and volunteers come together for a special holiday gift drive to support families enrolled in Blue Butterfly, Tidewell Hospice’s free grief care program for children and their families.

For the Blue Butterfly Holiday Adopt-a-Family Gift Drive, children, with support of their family or caregiver, make specific requests that are filled by thoughtful donors. Once the gifts are returned, they are wrapped by volunteers, and presented at a year-end holiday party.

There are many ways to participate:

• Purchase a gift off the wish list for a child, teen or adult enrolled in the program.
• Sponsor a family or multiple families as a business or community partner.
• Make a cash gift to Tidewell Foundation to sponsor a child or family.

You or your group will be matched with a child, children or family per your preference. The holiday gift program brings unique joy to children at a difficult time in their lives.
