Margaret Catherine Mattu
Margaret Catherine “Cathie” Mattu, 76, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024. Born October 5, 1948, to Altai Erwin “Dutch” Culp Sr. and Margaret Catherine “Peg” Culp, she grew up in Apollo, Pennsylvania with her parents and five siblings. Cathie went on to become a beautician, then stayed home to raise her two daughters with her husband Joseph Donald Mattu, and after resumed working as a long-term sales associate at Krutz Jewelers in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, where they resided for many years before retiring to Lake Placid, Florida.
Cathie will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She loved painting, helping others, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dutch and Peg Culp, her brother Altai Erwin “Herkey” Culp Jr., and her two sisters, Janice “Faye” Wilson and Violet Lookhart.
Cathie is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Donald Mattu, their daughters Cynthia Dezzutti (and husband Dave Dezzutti) and Carisa Mattu, her four grandchildren, Meghan and Trevor Dezzutti, and Ethan and Ella Ravotta, and her brothers, Nelson and Lewis Culp.
