Cuthbert “Bert” Corniel
Cuthbert “Bert” Corniel, 77, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice House in Arcadia, Florida.
Bert was born to John Baptist and Emily Corniel on October 26, 1946, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Bert was in the United States Army during Vietnam as a CID officer. He then worked as a Lieutenant for the Honolulu Police Department. After leaving the force, he opened his own private detective firm. He then worked at the prosecutor’s office in Honolulu, Hawaii, as an Investigator.
Bert was a very generous man. He loved to spend time with family and friends. His witty sense of humor will always be remembered. He will live on by all who loved and knew him.
Bert is survived by his wife Lorraine Corniel of 5 years, his 2 daughters, Janet P. Corniel of Denver, CO, and Kimberly K. Hussey of North Port, FL, and 5 grandchildren.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in Honolulu, HI, at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice Arcadia.
