Gloria Yvette Lanouette Gardner

Born in Dover, NH to Henri E Lanouette and Roseanna Fortin. Married James E Gardner on 10/27/1945 in Lowell, MA. 1946 they moved to Florida living in Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Sun City Center. Gloria later moved down to Englewood to be by her daughter.

Gloria is survived by her brother Maurice Lanouette (who is 101), her children, James (Jenice “Kitty”), Michael (Norma), Gloria “Bunny” Vanderburg (James), 1 grandson, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. She is predeceased by her parents, 10 siblings, her husband James E Gardner, and her daughter Rose Mary Gardner.

Many lives were touched by Gloria during her long life. Her strong faith and love of Our Lord got her through difficult times, but she was also immensely blessed. Gloria worked at the Lakeland J C Penney’s for 25 years and retired as Merchandise Manager. She had many fun-filled hours playing various card games and Mah Jongg with friends.

We would like to Thank Heritage Oaks of Englewood, Englewood Community Hospital, and Tidewell Care Center at Village on the Isles, Venice, FL for all the loving care provided. Thank you also to our Family and Friends for their outpouring of love and support, so many cared for Gloria.

A Mass will be held at St Francis of Assisi, 5265 Placida Rd, Grove City, FL. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Fr. Cory Mayer will officiate.
