Janet Trbovich
Janet Trbovich, 80 passed away on February 2, 2024 surrounded by her family in University Park, Florida. She was born on April 8, 1943 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, to Paul and Cecilia Houlihan. Janet went to St. Francis DeSales school through high school, where she met the love of her life Ed Trbovich. She graduated as the valedictorian, went on to attend Duquesne University and became a supervisor at Bell Telephone. On February 13, 1965 she and Ed married and in 1969 welcomed daughter Sheri.
In 1971, the family moved to Titusville, Pennsylvania where Janet was a member of the Titusville Garden Club, Titusville Service League, St. Titus Church choir and was also a CCD teacher. In 1989, Ed and Janet moved back to the Pittsburgh area settling in Wexford, PA where they became founding members of the Saints John and Paul parish. Janet was a wedding coordinator at the church for 17 years, taught CCD, was a Eucharistic minister and member of the Requiem choir. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, cleaning, shopping, traveling and being Nana to granddaughter Sarah.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kathleen Houlihan, sister and brother-in-law Diane and Ed Ewonce, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosemary and George Hewlett and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean and Bill Greaff, and nephews Dean Hewlett and John Ewonce. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Ed, daughter Sheri Spoharski (Robert), granddaughter Sarah Ward (Zander Ricklic), sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dorothy and John Turyan, nieces Bonny Giedl (John Markulin), Cheryl Diehl (Tom), Kim Alllison (Jay), Kathleen Ewonce, Michele Sullivan (Tom Ulizzi), Stacy Zurchin (Brian), and Tara Moore (Scott) and nephews Bill Greaff (Sue) and William Richardson, as well as many great nieces and nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 10:30 am St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 7900 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida and on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30 am at Saints John and Paul Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road, Wexford, Pennsylvania.
