Jeanette S. Blitz
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jeanette Seaman Blitz on May 25th, 2024.
Jeanette was born in Cornwall, New York, to Eleanor and James C. Seaman. She graduated from the Methodist Hospital of Nursing in Brooklyn, New York, and served with great honor in the United States Air Force as a nurse during the Vietnam War, a testament to her selflessness and dedication to her country.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and a brother, James R. (Cathy) Seaman of Sarasota. She is survived by her beloved husband, Roger, with whom she shared 57 years of love and devotion. The center of Jeanette’s world was her children Lenore, Jason, and Rebecca Blitz, all of Sarasota. She took immense pride in being the grandmother of Ryan and Elizabeth Blitz of Sarasota. She is also survived by her brother Arthur (Dawn) Seaman of Wallkill, NY, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Jeanette’s honor to be made to the Tidewell Foundation or a non-profit that you support.
Services will be private, and burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery on July 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow.
Jeanette will forever shine in our hearts, reminding us to live with love, compassion, and laughter.
