Joel Francis Sparhawk
A life well lived. On Monday, August 5, 2024, at 5:30 am, the world lost Joel Francis Sparhawk, 84, to untimely health complications. Joel died peacefully in the care of Tidewell Hospice in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, a few miles from his Bradenton home. Joel was a very charismatic man with a lovingly humorous personality who touched and captured countless hearts. He spent his younger years playing baseball and golf and had a love of working with his artistic hands that inspired several custom homes that he designed and built in his home state of Maryland.
Joel spent the majority of his life building the company he is well known for founding, Severn Graphics, where he dedicated his time to employing many wonderfully talented people over the span of five decades. Joel was a proud father and raised three children: Leslee Sparhawk Odell (spouse Mark Odell), Jeffrey Sparhawk (spouse Sonia Rodriguez Sparhawk), and Gregory Sparhawk (spouse Molly King Sparhawk). He is also survived by his six beautiful grandchildren, Meredith, Caroline, Megan, Kate, Sarah, and Abraham who always cherished every loving and learning opportunity they had with him. Joel made a big difference in the world and will always be remembered for his kindness, humor, wit, and mostly for his selfless caring, and gentle heart.
