Katie Ann Goranson of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born on April 5, 1976, in Chicago, Illinois. Katie is survived by her three beloved children, Jonathan, Elizabeth, and Jacob. She was laid to rest in Clearwater Beach, where she spent many of her happiest moments.
Katie had a tumultuous life, but she was always such a strong person, and she fought hard for as long as she could. Her heart was filled with love and care for others. She would lift others around her and make sure they knew how special they were. Her sense of humor spread smiles to many faces throughout her life. Many of her years were spent with the importance of having fun and sharing that with others. Katie always knew that fun was an essential piece to living a fulfilling life. She shared that way of life with her kids, and over the years, they have gone on to pursue what makes them happiest. The immense love that Katie had for her children could clearly be seen by those around her.
Katie had a passion for music and was graced with the talent to sing. She would share this amazing talent anytime she could. She was a competitive figure skater in her youth and won many awards. She was often found spending time in the sun and on the beach. Katie loved the ocean so much that she moved out of Illinois to California, and eventually Florida, to be closer to it. She will be remembered for her beauty, her infectious smile, her loud laugh that could be heard from afar, and her lovely singing voice. She was a beautiful soul, and she will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Katie. Your memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved you.
