Through the years he was an active member of many of the boards involved with the agricultural industry. Philip served his country and was honorably discharged in 1952 from the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He was a Baptist and a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Ogden. In his spare time, Phil enjoyed fishing, deer and quail hunting, and just being outside. He was the happiest anytime he was checking his cows, watching his watermelons grow or just sitting in Englewood watching the boats go by.

Many are carrying on the agricultural efforts and traditions so that his legacy can live on for many years.
