Rae Ann Jandris
Rae Ann Jandris (nee Baldino), of University Park, FL, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 90.
Rae Ann was born on November 27, 1933, to Anna and Frank Baldino in Passaic, NJ. She married Charles M. Jandris, the love of her life, on June 25, 1955, and resided in northern New Jersey for over 85 years. Rae Ann was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life. She was known for her strong spirit, unwavering loyalty, and boundless love for those around her. Rae Ann touched the lives of many with her infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and nurturing presence.
Rae Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family above all else. Her children, Doreen Greenan, and Chuck Jandris, and grandchildren Lily F. McGrew, Owen C. Jandris, and Logan C. Jandris were the light of her life, and she took great pride in watching them grow and succeed. Her love and guidance will forever be cherished by them and all who knew her.
Professionally, Rae Ann excelled as an elementary school teacher, graduated from William Paterson University, and achieved her MA in Education from Bank Street College. In 1984 Rae Ann realized the need for education and care for young children of working parents and started the Children’s Learning Center of Wyckoff, where she made a lasting impact through her dedication and expertise for over 30 years.
In her leisure time, Rae Ann enjoyed reading, playing bridge, gardening, and spending time chatting with family and friends, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her positive outlook and generosity were a source of inspiration to all who were fortunate to know her.
Rae Ann is survived by her children Doreen Jandris Greenan (James) of Sarasota, FL, Chuck Jandris of Fair Lawn, NJ, her grandchildren Lily F. McGrew of Seattle, WA, Owen C. Jandris of West Haven, CT, Logan C. Jandris of West Milford, NJ, her sister Janet Conant (nee Baldino, Terry) of Bushkill, PA, who will continue to honor her memory by carrying forward the values she instilled in them. Her passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but we take solace in knowing that her legacy of love and compassion will live on through those she touched.
