Richard William Newberry
Richard William Newberry, 94, of Bradenton, Florida, passed into eternal life on July 21, 2024, after a long illness. He was at home surrounded by his family.
Richard (Rick) was born on January 15, 1930, in Flint, Michigan. He worked various jobs and enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Marines, he worked for Dow Corning in Midland, Michigan, for close to thirty years.
He loved country music and was a drummer in a country band, but most of all, he loved to fish.
Rick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Newberry; daughter, Tina (Roger) Barbour, Terry (Travis) and daughter, Nancy Smith (David); brother, Gus Gregory (Kay), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen, and brothers, Otto Jr. (Glenna), Jack (Rheta), and infant brother, Earl.
Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of arrangements. Per the family’s request, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
