Caldwell Trust Company Returns as Exclusive Signature Sponsor for Tidewell Foundation Signature Luncheon

Kelly Caldwell - Donor

Caldwell Trust Company returns as the Exclusive Signature Sponsor for the Tidewell Foundation’s 121h Annual Signature Luncheon, set for February 5, 2021 at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. Keynote speaker will be Lorna Luft, Broadway star and daughter of beloved, legendary performer Judy Garland.

Luft, who plans to be present in person, has been touched by the fragility and vulnerability of life. She will speak candidly about the challenges of mental illness, its impact on women and their children, and the courage it takes to seek healing. Lorna will draw on her experiences as a caregiver to her mother, who died in 1969, as well as her dearest friend, who spent her final two weeks of her life in hospice and passed away last year.

In recognition of pandemic-imposed restrictions, Tidewell and other not-for-profits have had to dramatically shift how they produce fundraising events. Tidewell will use a combination of virtual and in-person experience options for its respected signature event, observing appropriate crowd reduction, distancing, masks, and protocols. The luncheon will be simulcast for guests who prefer to support and participate virtually.

Unfazed by the innovations, Caldwell Trust Company has once again stepped up to support Tidewell, renewing its commitment as signature sponsor of the annual luncheon for the 11th year in a row. “How could we not?,” said G. “Kelly” Caldwell Jr. “Recognizing the tremendous contributions of Tidewell Foundation in support of Tidewell Hospice, we want to lead the charge that helps continue the rich tradition of hope and inspiration this event provides.”

Foundation President Debbie Mason said, “Tidewell is so fortunate to have Caldwell Trust Company return as our lead sponsor. We so appreciate Kelly Caldwell and Jan Miller. They understand the importance of this luncheon, which supports our mission of providing world-class care and compassion to all who need it. This special annual event is the one time of the year when we focus on the numerous services that are available to the community for free. Such programs include grief counseling, our Blue Butterfly’s children’s grief program, our nationally recognized Honors Veterans services, Nurse Residency training program, and more.

The 12th Annual Signature Luncheon is Tidewell’s largest fundraising event, presented to help support Tidewell’s services to more than 10,000 patients annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
