Community Regatta Helps Hospice Care

Charlotte Harbor Hospice Regatta Cup

Annual Charlotte County Sailing Event Helps Support Hospice Care for Local Residents

Dozens of sailors navigated Charlotte Harbor recently to show off their skills and help support hospice care for the community. The Annual Hospice Cup Regatta raised more than $17,000 to help advance the mission of home and hospice care for Tidewell Hospice. This event is part of the National Hospice Regatta Alliance. For more than 20 years, the group has supported regattas throughout the United States to raise money and support for hospice care.

“Events like this help us, help more people in Charlotte County. We want to expand our free Blue Butterfly program for grieving children and families, offer more music therapy, massage, and expressive arts to patients. This helps us offer world-class comfort, care, and compassion to those who need it the most,” said Tidewell Foundation President, Debbie Mason.

“This would not have happened without the amazing community contributions and support for our local Tidewell Hospice. It takes a village, and we look forward to 2022 and hosting again in early December,” said Martin Holland, Commodore of the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club.

The following are the results from the Charlotte County December event. The first-place winner, Skipper Johnson, has been invited to compete for the 2022 National Hospice Cup.

  • 1st “Fortuneatelee” – Skipper – Johnson
  • 2nd “Mystic Blue” – Skipper – Coyne
