Tidewell Foundation Partnership Provides Thanksgiving Meal Donation Opportunities
Community encouraged to donate heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meals for Tidewell Hospice patients and families
SARASOTA, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2021) — For the second consecutive year, the Tidewell Foundation is connecting with local favorites GROVE, PIER 22 and Morton’s Gourmet Market to provide individual heat-and-serve meals to local hospice and home health patients and their families on Thanksgiving.
Through this partnership, people in our community can purchase Thanksgiving meals that will be donated to hospice and home health patients — allowing them to enjoy a stress-free meal while spending quality time with their loved ones. Each donated meal will be pre-made, ready to heat and serve, and hand-delivered to Tidewell Hospice patients and their families in time for Thanksgiving dinner. In 2020, the Tidewell Foundation delivered more than 340 meals to patients and families across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties through the support of its catering partners, colleagues, volunteers and donors.
“After witnessing the glow on the patients’ faces while delivering meals last year, we jumped at the chance to partner with PIER 22, GROVE and Morton’s Gourmet Market to provide this opportunity once more,” said Tidewell Foundation President Debbie Mason. “This has been another challenging year for our patients and their loved ones, and the Tidewell Foundation greatly appreciates the community’s support for those in Tidewell Hospice’s care.”
Annually, Tidewell Hospice provides care for nearly 10,000 patients throughout our region. The Tidewell Foundation provides perpetual support for the world-class care of Tidewell Hospice.
“We are excited to partner once again with the Tidewell Foundation this holiday season and to be able to lend a hand in bringing joy to many hospice patient families in Manatee County so they can focus on spending quality time with their loved ones on Thanksgiving Day,” said Greg Campbell, executive chef & director of operations for PIER 22 & GROVE.
“We are honored to partner with Tidewell Foundation to provide Thanksgiving dinners to the families in the care of Tidewell,” said Todd Morton, owner of Morton’s Gourmet Market. “Through the generosity of our customers and Tidewell volunteers, complete meals will be delivered to local families, allowing them to spend quality time together. As always, we feel blessed to be part of such a caring community.”
In addition to purchasing meals directly from these catering partners, the community can donate to the Tidewell Foundation to purchase meals on their behalf. A $25 donation will provide one heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meal for a local patient and their family.
Please visit tidewellfoundation.org to donate meals and learn more about these opportunities. The deadline to purchase meals through Morton’s Gourmet Market is 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, while the deadline to purchase meals through GROVE or PIER 22 is noon Tuesday, Nov. 23.
