Tidewell Foundation’s 14th Annual Signature Luncheon Salutes Veterans

The annual fundraiser will feature former Army Major and Bronze Star recipient, Dr. Sudip Bose, on Friday, March 3, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

The Tidewell Foundation’s 14th Annual Signature Luncheon will honor Veterans and feature nationally recognized speaker, former Army Major, and Bronze Star recipient Dr. Sudip Bose. The annual fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

As an Army battalion surgeon in the Iraq War, Dr. Bose was selected to treat Saddam Hussein after his capture and was awarded a Bronze Star for completing one of the longest combat tours by any physician since World War II. He’s been recognized as a “CNN Hero” and was named one of the “Leading Physicians of the World” by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals.

An experienced and trusted health correspondent and a vocal advocate for improved health care for Americans, Dr. Bose appears frequently on network news programs including CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and Fox and on hit shows such as “Untold Stories of the ER.”

With lessons from the front lines of emergency rooms in the pandemic and combat zones in Iraq, Dr. Bose has an inspiring and motivational message for leaders in times of crisis and anyone struggling to return to “normal.”

“A tireless advocate for Veterans, Dr. Bose also has a powerful message about staying grounded and calm in the face of overwhelming circumstances,” said Delesa Morris, Interim President, Tidewell Foundation. “His personal story of bravery, overcoming challenges and applying those lessons to help countless people will keep people riveted.”

Dr. Bose also founded The Battle Continues, a not-for-profit focused on helping Veterans fight their health battles beyond combat.

The 14th Annual Signature Luncheon is the Tidewell Foundation’s signature fundraising event to help fund charitable care, grief support services, specialized Veterans care, music therapy, telehealth and other programs that Tidewell Hospice and other Empath Health not-for-profit entities provide to people across Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. This year, the program will support Tidewell Honors Veterans program and other hospice programs.

Since 2008, Tidewell Honors Veterans has served more than 21,000 Veterans in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties, providing specialized care that recognizes the unique challenges that may exist in military families — all at no cost to them. The program receives 100% of its funding from donations to the Tidewell Foundation.

Caldwell Trust Company has returned to serve as the Exclusive Signature Luncheon Sponsor of the 14th Annual Signature Luncheon. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.

Tickets for the event will go on sale in January. For information about the 14th Annual Tidewell Foundation Signature Luncheon, please visit tidewellfoundation.org
