Tidewell Hospice presents Veterans Day webinar with former POW Jessica Lynch
Tidewell Hospice and the Tidewell Honors Veterans Program are proud to present a Veterans Day webinar with former POW and national motivational speaker Jessica Lynch. The free webinar is open to the public as part of Tidewell Hospice’s yearlong 40th anniversary celebration.
The webinar will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. Advance registration is available at https://tidewell.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8Xyo8pQ_TAumKoAFAPJj-Q.
On March 23, 2003, U.S. Army PFC Jessica Lynch was injured and captured by Iraqi forces after her unit was ambushed in Iraq. She was rescued after nine days in captivity on April 1, 2003, by U.S. Special Operations Forces. Jessica’s rescue was the first successful rescue of an American POW since World War II.
Jessica says that tough times never last, but tough people do. Life can throw tragedy and obstacles in our paths that make it difficult to navigate at times. But it’s in those times where we all grow, become better and often walk away stronger and more resilient. We later look back and realize that these times were truly a gift, and it was perseverance that delivered that gift to us.
Jessica has appeared on Good Morning America, Today, CBS Morning Show, Huckabee Show, CNN, MSNBC, David Letterman Show, Fox, Prime Time on ABC with Diane Sawyer, E News!, CBN and various local networks throughout the country. She has appeared on numerous magazine covers, including TIME and People. She has been named West Virginian of the Year as well as Glamour Woman of the Year.
