“Even something simple can have a huge impact on people’s lives.”

Suzy Brenner is the Executive Director of the Paradise Center on Longboat Key. She’s led a long and fruitful partnership with the Tidewell Foundation. Together, Tidewell and the Paradise Center are the core of a group of much-needed wellness organizations on the Key.

“My first connection to Tidewell was end-of-life care for my dad. I don’t know what we would have done without the incredible care and guidance the Tidewell Hospice team provided. He wanted to remain at home, and Tidewell’s resources helped us make that happen.”

As leader of another important nonprofit organization serving seniors in our community, Suzy is a beloved partner and colleague for Tidewell. The Paradise Center promotes wellness and enriches life for Longboat Key residents in affordable, accessible programs, from tai chi to discussion groups.

“Check in on your neighbors. We have many, many seniors in our community and so many are living alone. It’s a small gesture to let your neighbors know that they can call on you if needed; even something as simple as giving them a ride to the grocery store…but it can have a hugely beneficial impact on both people’s lives.”
